About this hard plate
A Level III steel plate made by Spartan Armor Systems in Tucson, Arizona. This is the Spartan Omega AR500, model SA-500-10X12-SH-SC-BC: 10x12, shooters cut, single curve, 0.25 in thick.
Spartan's label reads: “This model of armor has been determined to comply with NIJ Standard-0101.06 by the NIJ compliance testing program”, Threat III.
This model has Spartan's base coat only. It does not have a spall (fragmentation) coating, so wear it with a spall cover or an anti-spall wrap. Ask at the table.
Sold each: buy two for front and back. Spartan backs it with a 5-year warranty and rates it for a 20-year shelf life.
