Who we are

This website and the shop are run by Bruce Ballistics, a DBA of KAEL WASON LLC, a Michigan company based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. "We", "us" and "Bruce" mean that business. By reserving or buying from us, you agree to these terms.

Who can buy

To reserve or buy body armor from us, you must:

• be 18 years of age or older;
• not be prohibited from owning body armor. In particular, you must not have been convicted of a violent felony (MCL 750.227g, 18 USC 931); and
• not live in, or be buying for someone in, Connecticut or New York.

You confirm the first two when you reserve. We may ask for a photo ID at pickup. We can refuse or cancel any sale, for any lawful reason, including if we believe the buyer isn't eligible or is buying for someone who isn't. Buying armor for someone who can't legally own it is against the law.

Reservations

A reservation is a hold, not a purchase. When you reserve online, we set the items aside for the pickup you chose: a Michigan show we're attending, or local pickup in West Michigan. We'll contact you to confirm. You'll get a pickup code to bring with you.

• Reserve online, pay at pickup. No card is charged online. We don't take card numbers or payments on this website. Bruce will confirm which payment methods he accepts when he confirms your reservation.
• You can change or cancel a reservation at any time before you pay, at no cost. Just call, text or email.
• If you don't show up and don't contact us, we may release the items after the pickup date.
• If something you reserved becomes unavailable, we'll tell you before pickup and offer a swap or cancel it. You never owe anything for a reservation we can't fill.

The sale happens at pickup, in person, once you've seen the armor, been fitted and paid. Michigan sales tax applies where required.

Prices and product info

We work hard to keep prices and details right. If we make a clear mistake, such as a wrong price or a wrong spec, we'll tell you before you pay and you can decide whether to go ahead. Prices can change, but a confirmed reservation keeps the price shown when you reserved, unless it was an obvious error.

Product art on this site is illustration, not a photo of the exact item. Weights are approximate. Every piece's maker, model number, protection level and date are on its label. Check them at pickup.

What armor ratings do and don't mean

We sell armor made by others. We don't manufacture it. Protection levels (like HG2 or RF1) come from the maker's testing, as printed on the label. A rating means a model stopped specific rounds under lab test conditions. It doesn't mean the armor will stop every round, every time, or that you can't be hurt.

• Armor only protects the area it covers.
• A stopped round can still cause blunt-force injury.
• Damaged, worn-out, wet, heat-damaged or badly fitted armor may not perform as rated.

Warranty

Armor is covered by its maker's warranty, as printed on the label or in the paperwork. We'll help you make a warranty claim with the maker. Apart from that, and as far as the law allows, we sell products as described and don't add any other warranties. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Michigan consumer law.

Returns

See our Returns policy. In short: look everything over before you pay. Unopened items can be returned, but we never take back or resell armor that's been used.

Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a product is limited to the price you paid for it. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses. This doesn't limit liability that can't legally be limited.

Using this website

Please don't misuse the site. That means no false reservations, no entering other people's details, and no attempts to break or overload it. Drawings and giveaways have their own rules, shown on the drawing page. How we handle your information is covered in our Privacy policy.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by Michigan law. We may update them from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version, and the version in place when you reserved applies to that reservation.
